ISO 14001: 2015
Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS) and the most widely used EMS in the world, with over 360,000 ISO 14001 certificates issued globally.
ISO 14001 is the principal management system standard which specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS. This helps to control your environmental aspects, reduce impacts and ensure legal compliance. Studies show that as much as 70% of total office waste is recyclable; however, only 7.5% reaches the recycling facility.
ISO 14001 is accompanied by ISO 14004 Environmental Management Systems – General Guidelines on principles, systems and support techniques. The standard covers issues such as the establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement of an EMS.
Nearly any business can benefit from achieving certification to ISO 14001 standards. The certification is broad enough to offer significant benefits to organizations in any industry or sector, while still providing a specific framework for implementing relevant sustainable practices.

The key to any successful business is strong quality control. If you want your operation to thrive, your potential consumer base must be confident that the goods or services you offer meet or exceed expected standards. ISO 14001 is a quick and easy way for potential consumers to see if your company has put the time and effort into making sure your product or service is the best it can possibly be.
One benefit of the ISO 14001 certification is that it is a flexible framework. It doesn’t tell a potential consumer that one way of running a business is better than any other; instead, certification verifies that a particular business meets ISO 14001's environment management system standards. It also verifies that their method of manufacturing a product or providing a service has been designed to ensure a high-quality outcome for the customer.
ISO 14001 sets the international standard for companies looking for ways to meet or exceed quality control metrics. At the same time, it helps consumers distinguish between companies, allowing them to make educated choices when choosing a vendor. It does this by identifying best practices for each industry, standardizing those practices and promoting adherence to those practices.

Steps to Certification
Step 1
Submit a Quote Request Form to help us gain insights into your business and its needs. You can choose either the online quick quote or formal request form. This data allows us to precisely define your assessment requirements and offer a proposal for certification.
Step 2
Once you’ve accepted the proposal, we’ll schedule your assessment with an Auspice Assessor. This includes two key visits which make up the Initial Certification Audit. Ensure your system has been in place for at least three months, completed a management review, and undergone a full internal audit cycle.
Step 3
After completing the two-part audit, a certification decision is made. If successful, certification is issued by ACME. You'll get both digital and physical copies of your certificate. This certification is valid for three years and is maintained through annual surveillance audits, with a recertification audit every three years.
